THE FIGHT FOR A LIVING WAGE IN PEORIA

April 15th is tax day.

It’s also the day millions of hard working Americans across the country will be going on strike, protesting for a living wage. To Abolish poverty wages and combat income inequality are the goals of this protest.

We will be meeting at Lakeview Branch Public Library @1137 W Lake Ave Peoria, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, on Sunday April 12th, to organize the protest, make signs, and give information on resistance to the tyrannical 1%. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Please come support us on April 15th, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on University outside the McDonald’s store and Walmart store. We seek a living wage in Illinois of $13 an hour, within five years; a raise for tipped workers to 70% of the living wage.

We are also fighting to have the minimum wage attached or indexed to inflation, so that it automatically adjusts for increases in prices. If you are a fast-food, retail, home care worker, or make poverty wages stand up and fight back against poverty and income inequality with us. We will only succeed through solidarity with the 99%

Thanks to our friends at Fighting for a living wage – Peoria, IL on Facebook for their support.

Check them out for all updates regarding this upcoming action
